First up it's Charlton Lido

An Olympic sized outdoor pool with enough heating to take off the chill. 

Charlton Lido in southeast London is a 50m long heated outdoor pool run by Better Leisure. 

It was a bit fiddly to book and quite a journey to get there; two tubes and two buses for one of us, bus, train, bus for the other. But on arrival the staff were truly welcoming and helpful. 

The pool is divided into three three wide lanes - fast, medium, slow, and was not a lot warmer than our regular unheated lido. We enjoyed a decent swim under cloudy London skies with very few fellow bathers. 

The outdoor cubicles and warm showers were very lovely and the whole facility is clean and well maintained. Could have done with a hot drink afterwards but there was nowhere to buy one!
